Gonzalez figueroa family

Our grandparents from my father side and all of their children (LUCIA, HILDA & WILLIE) were born and raised in Valparaiso. Our grandparents from my mother side and all of their children were born and raised in the Conception region. Eventually my grandparent (father side) moved to Santiago and so did my mother where she met my father. The background of the family as far as we know is a mix of south American and European nationalities. My grandmother’s father was from Ecuador and my mother’s grandfather immigrated from France, unfortunately that is all we know about them. From my grandfather’s notes (father side) we know his father was a dentist working on a ship and he died while on the ship and we think he was buried in Salaverry, Peru.

My mother lived in the recoleta ‘barrio’ with an aunt and cousins – (Family Zilleruelo Peyrin). Most of my mother’s family lived and still live in the Concepcion/Angol area.

We don’t know when the family moved from Valparaiso to Santiago, they lived in the Recoleta ‘barrio’ in Santiago & moved to La Pintana in the late 50’s & back to Santiago in the late 60’s after my grandfather retired. Our grandfather was in the navy (comercial) at one point in his life, but I remember him as a traveling sales person of automotive parts working for a company called Davies Autos (10 de Julio) from where he retired from. My father worked for the ETC and later on he drove a taxi. My mother & grandmother stayed home.We do know a few things about my grandparent’s parents and grandparents from both sides but not with a great level of detail. Hopefully this site will provide our children, grandchildren and their descendant with a good background of our family. The family they came from.
